Prose Manuscript Critiques

As part of your registration fee, three different faculty members will do one-on-one critiques with you. Your conference experience will be enhanced by taking advantage of this option, so we encourage you to submit a manuscript.


Manucripts should be:

  1. No longer than 15 pages (20 pages for screenplays) plus a Title page with author’s name, address, and phone or e-mail.

  2. Typewritten or laser printed.

  3. Double-spaced, no smaller than 12 point.

  4. Identified as fiction, non-fiction, Young Adult, or magazine.

  5. Made into three (3) copies, and sent to:

  6. Sent in by the deadline: Postmarked by May 23, 2008.


Poetry manuscripts should be::

  1. Five poems, no longer than 10 pages plus a Title page with author’s name, address, and phone or e-mail.

  2. Typewritten or laser printed.

  3. Double-spaced, no smaller than 12 point.

  4. Identified as Poetry.

  5. Made into three (3) copies, and sent to:

  6. Sent in by the deadline: Postmarked by May 23, 2008.


Send manuscripts U.S. Post Office only. Avoid requiring a signature for receipt. For notification of receipt, enclose a self-addressed stamped postcard.



Optional Extended Manuscript Evaluations:


In addition to the 15-page basic evaluations that come with your registration fee, you may submit a longer manuscript of up to 40 pages for an additional $90. This fee includes a one-hour, one-on-one discussion of your manuscript with a faculty member.
Deadline: Postmarked by May 23.


This service is not connected to your basic fee paid for the conference. It requires a separate check, accompanying the extended manuscript. Make checks payable to:
